SESSION 6 – November 22nd
Charlie Winter – Senior Research Fellow at the International Centre for the Study of Radicalisation at King’s College London
The ISIS Media Decline
Charlie Winter studies terrorism, insurgency and innovation, with a focus on online and offline strategic communication. His research embeds the outreach efforts of the Islamic State in a comparative historical context and, more broadly, explores how militant groups cultivate creative approaches to governance and war. Winter regularly consults for governments and often appears in international broadcast and print media and is also an Associate Fellow at the International Centre for Counter-Terrorism. He holds a BA in Arabic from the University of Edinburgh and an MA in Middle East and Mediterranean Studies from King’s College London.
