You are invited to the first VOX-Pol Research Workshop for this academic year. The event is open to all, so please share with your networks.
Monday 24th October, 20:00 – 21:30 (UK time)
The focus of this online workshop is individuals’ experiences of, and engagement with, extremist ideas and beliefs – both jihadist and far-right – in a variety of different settings. Panellists will explore the role of video games, music, humour and the occult in normalising extremism and assess the extent to which this plays a role in radicalisation trajectories and desensitises individuals to violence. The reverse process – in which extremist actors adopt mainstream culture to expound their message – will also be considered.
Please email Stuart Macdonald for the Zoom link.
