MOST-READ VOX-Pol BLOG POSTS OF 2021
From September 2020 to July 2021, VOX-Pol published 48 Blog posts on the topics of online extremism and terrorism. The events of 6 January, 2021 at the US Capitol led to a big increase in traffic to VOX-Pol’s online platforms, with total website page views this year increased 30% on the previous year.
Congrats to PhD students Jordan McSwiney (University of Sydney) and VOX-Pol Summer School alum Greta Jasser (Leuphana University) on achieving ‘most read’ status for their post about the Gab social network.

RECENT VOX-Pol OUTPUTS
In July, Max Taylor and John Horgan, editors of the academic journal Terrorism and Political Violence, spoke to VOX-Pol’s Coordinator Maura Conway and IDC Herzliya’s Boaz Ganor for their new Terrorism and Political Violence Podcast. Discussions focused on ethical issues in terrorism and political violence research arising out of TPV’s recent special issue on the same topic to which Prof. Conway contributed a free-to-access article on ‘Online Extremism and Terrorism Research Ethics: Researcher Safety, Informed Consent, and the Need for Tailored Guidelines.’
