Benjamin Mok

Benjamin Mok is an Associate Research Fellow at the International Centre for Political Violence and Terrorism Research (ICPVTR) within the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSIS), Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. As the Team Lead of the ICPVTR Informatics Team, he directs efforts to monitor, analyse, and interpret trends in online terrorism and violent extremism (TVE) using data analytics and informatics techniques. Mok’s research focuses the intersection of technology and security studies, exploring how emergent online subcultures can both influence and be influenced by extremist activity. His published work offers policy-relevant insights that inform counter-terrorism strategies and digital governance, covering both global online TVE trends as well as the distinct challenges facing the Asia-Pacific region, such as issues of electoral interference, youth radicalisation, and the circulation of TVE-related content.
