Broderick McDonald
Broderick McDonald is a Research Associate at the University of Oxford’s Emerging Threats Group and a Visiting Research Fellow at the Alan Turing Institute/CETaS working on counterterrorism and AI security. Prior to this, he served as an Advisor to the Government of Canada and was a Fellow with the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC). His research and commentary has appeared in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, Foreign Affairs, Financial Times, The Guardian, The Telegraph, and Foreign Policy. Alongside this, he has provided expert analysis for ABC, BBC, CBC, PBS, France24, and Al Jazeera News. He currently serves on the Global Internet Forum to Counter Terrorism (GIFCT)‘s Independent Advisory Committee and the GLOCA Board of Advisors. Alongside his research, Broderick has advised policymakers, law enforcement, intelligence agencies, international prosecutors, parliamentarians, AI Safety Institutes, AI labs, and social media platforms on emerging technologies and security threats.
