Marguerite Borelli

Marguerite Borelli is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the CNRS Center for Internet and Society (CIS) in Paris, where she currently works on the ClaimSov Open Research Area (ORA) project focusing on digital sovereignty. Her PhD thesis, completed in 2025, focused on the governance of terrorist content on social media, with an emphasis on the involvement of Meta, Google (YouTube) and Twitter in countering terrorism and violent extremisms, and the public-private relations this generates at various levels of governance. Her research has been published in French and English language journals, such as New Media & Society and Mots. Les langages du politique. She is also an Associate Researcher at the Analysis and Interdisciplinary Research Centre for Media (CARISM) of Paris-Panthéon-Assas University, and a member of the Christchurch Call Advisory Network (CCAN).
