Stefan Meingast
Stefan Meingast is Chairman and Managing Director of SCENOR, a non-profit and independent research organisation in Austria. His research addresses violent extremism, terrorism, radicalisation, and conspiracy myths, with a particular focus on digital communication environments. He has coordinated numerous projects, for instance examining right-wing extremist networks and hate speech across youth-oriented platforms, investigated religiously motivated extremism in online spaces, and advanced approaches for the protection of places of worship and the strengthening of related community resilience. His current work includes national trainings with young people aimed at fostering critical awareness and resistance to online radicalisation.
He previously directed large-scale EU-funded (consulting) projects and coordinated international programmes at the Financial Academy Austria. He holds a Master of Arts in Political Science from Ludwig-Maximilians University, Munich, and a Diploma in International Relations from the Diplomatic Academy, Vienna.
