This event is to launch a new report from Human Digital and VOX-Pol, titled, ‘Gore & Violent Extremism: An explorative analysis of the use of gore websites for hosting and sharing extremist and terrorist content’.
Report authors, Christopher Stewart and Dr Ali Fisher, will discuss the new publication and its policy recommendations. The launch will be chaired by VOX-Pol’s, Professor Maura Conway.
The report will be published at 09:00 BST on Wednesday 9 July on the VOX-Pol Publications page.

CALL FOR PROPOSALS: 2025 AVERT International Research Symposium, Melbourne, Australia
The 2025 AVERT International Research Symposium is an in-person event taking place on 24-26 November 2025 at Deakin University’s Deakin Downtown Campus, Melbourne, Australia. Overseas presenters can register to present online via Zoom.
AVERT is collaborating with VOX-Pol and the Terrorism and Social Media (TASM) Conference to deliver this year’s Symposium: Signal or noise? Navigating the changing nature of violent extremism online. More information about the conference can be found on the AVERT website. The proposal submission deadline is 14 July 2025, 11:59 PM AEST.

Miraji Mohamed presented on Trends and Developments in Online Extremism at the Southeast Asia Regional Centre for Counter-terrorism (SEARCCT) International Conference (SIC 2025), held on 24 June in Kuala Lumpur.
