VOX-Pol is pleased to co-sponsor the Terrorism and Social Media International Conference, which is taking place at Swansea University on 25 and 26 June 2019.
VOX-Pol Research Fellow J.M. Berger gave a keynote address of the first day of the conference. JM is the author of Extremism (MIT Press, 2018), and a 2018 VOX-Pol report The Alt-Right Twitter Census.
In addition to our Coordinator, Prof. Maura Conway, many VOX-Pol alum also feature as speakers and/or co-authors at the conference, including Dr. Ryan Scrivens (Concordia University), Dr. Weeda Mehran (Georgia State University), Dr. Stephen Herron (Queen’s University Belfast), Dr. Sam Jackson (SUNY Albany), Dr. Elizabeth Pearson (Swansea University), Dr. Zoey Reeve (Newcastle University), Moign Khawaja (Dublin City University), and Shahed Warreth (Twitter).
VOX-Pol were delighted to award sixteen travel bursaries for the conference, which enabled PhD students and early career researchers to attend.
