Nick Robinson

Nick Robinson is Associate Professor in Politics and International Studies at the University of Leeds. His principal interest is in the way in which militarism and extremism emerge and intercede in everyday life through what may be termed ‘everyday extremism’. His ongoing research on extremism and the militarisation of social media and videogames has been published in numerous internationally recognised journals including: Studies in Conflict and Terrorism; Critical Terrorism Studies; Critical Military Studies; The RUSI Journal; Perspectives on Politics; Political Studies; and Millennium.

Nick’s work has been funded by The Swedish Research Council (Vetenskapsradet) and the European Union’s Framework Programme 7, among others. He has a deep-seated commitment to working with stakeholders in multiple areas and has worked alongside staff from the European Parliament, European Commission, United Nations, UK Home Office, War Resistors International etc. He also has extensive media experience having appeared on BBC TV and radio and Canadian national TV alongside national and international media in Germany, Switzerland and the Middle East amongst others.
